Light Tackle Fishing Package

Bonefish, Snook, Permit, and Tarpon

Fishing Pkg Includes: 7 night pool-side accommodations, 6 full days of fishing, Boat & Professional Guide, Light spinning tackle, Tennis, Sunset Cruise, Indoor/outdoor games, Hotel Beach Barbecue, Mountain hiking, Welcome Cocktail, Airport transfers

Type of fish: Bonefish (average 3-6 lbs., occasional 8-10 lbs.), Permit (approx. 10-25 lbs.) and small Barracuda. Catching 8-10 Bonefish per day on spinning tackle is not uncommon but can vary with tide and fishing conditions.

Tackle: Spinning. We provide complete spinning tackle or you can bring your own. Most light spinning or saltwater spinning tackle will do. You will need 12 to 15 lb test line, 25 lb test wire leaders. Lures and Jigs for spinning tackle-pink, brown, yellow and white with consistently good results from brown and yellow Rapallo or plugs for Barracuda.

Fly Fishing tackle is not provided, your # 7 to #9 weight rods are called for with 10 to 12 lb test. You should bring rolls of tippet materials. We have a good stock of flies. We recommend for Bonefish, green and white blouses, white Percy charities and Bonefish specials. For Permit we recommend McCrab and cpoxy heads.

Boats: We have 3 skiffs equipped with 55 hp outboard motors. We can fish from 6 to 8 fisherman per week. More can fish if prior arrangements are made.

Fishing Location: We have 4 1/2 miles of reef flats within 5 minutes of the resort. We also have many other fishing sights around the island but the maximum travel time is only 35 minutes. We stalk fish by wading on the flats and also by poling at the edge of some flats in deeper water.

Fishing Hours: 7:30 am to about noon, lunch at the hotel, 2:00 to 5:30 pm. We can arrange to go out at 5:00am and return to the hotel for breakfast then fish from 9:00am to 1:00 pm. We can meet almost any schedule you may wish for your trip.

$275.00 daily rate, $175.00 half day rate per skiff (skiff holds 2 fisherman) plus non-diver rate per person per day. No more than 6 fisherman.

Fishing Operations

Deep Sea, Blue Water Trolling..............$690 Per Day plus tax

Type of fish: White and Blue Marlin, Wahoo, Tuna, Dolphin, Barracuda and Sail fish.
Tackle: Most tackle is provided by our charter boats and it is not necessary to bring tackle. We use a combination of artificial lures and strip baits with good success.

Boats: We have several boats available to us. Our primary boat is a 30' Shamrock Grand Slam. We also use a 38' Defender. Both boats are equipped with international class tackle.

Fishing Location: We have several prime fishing areas within 25 minutes of the hotel.

Fishing Hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm are the approximate hours for a full day charter. Times vary depending on the situation and the fisherman's desires.
We provide a box lunch for all fisherman. Fisherman will need to select and purchase any soft drinks or beer they wish to have during the day.
All Blue Water trolling is subject to weather cancellation if in the opinion of the captain the water conditions are inappropriate or dangerous.

General Information

Travel Documents:
All U.S. Citizens traveling to Honduras must carry a valid U.S. passport. A visa may be required for other nationalities. Please check with your airlines.

Baggage:
We recommend packing a carry-on bag due to occasional luggage delays. Attach the green Posada Del Sol baggage tags that we send you in the mail to all checked baggage.

Climate:
We are located in a tropical paradise with temperatures ranging from 66 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Light, tropical clothing is suggested. The water temperature ranges from 75 to 80 degrees. A light, short wet suit is recommended during the winter months. A dive skin for skin protection is sufficient during the rest of the year.

Dining:
We serve three meals a day. They are sit down meals that are served poolside or in the dining room. Breakfast consists of a varied daily selection of items such as French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, fresh fruit, homemade breads or the local favorite, tortillas and beans. Lunch and Dinner are set menus that offer a choice of two entrees that include fresh seafood, pasta, chicken and beef dishes with vegetables and fruits prepared with Caribbean flair, not to mention the delicious desserts you will come to anticipate. Should you have any special dietary requirements, kindly inform the management so that we can prepare an alternative meal for you.

We have a wake-up service for those who wish to take tea or coffee in their room prior to 7:00 am. There will be a sign-up sheet at the registration desk every evening where you can place your request for the next morning.

Bar hours are 10:30 am to 11:30 pm. We offer a wide range of fruit-embellished fantasy concoctions which are served either in the bar, poolside, or beachfront. We also offer a variety of fine wines for you to enjoy with your meals. Individual coolers are provided in each room so you may carry beverages on the dive boats or to secluded spots on the island. Beverages are not included in your resort rate.
